Once the sun went down it got a little colder (-14 C as opposed to the tropical -6 C during the day), so hot whiskeys in between rounds of LED frisbee helped us keep both spirits and temperatures up before retiring to the tent for the night.
What possessed us to camp in such cold weather? With sleeping bags comfort rated to almost -30 C, bugs in rugs were looking to us for advice on snugness. The temperature simply wasn't an issue. And with the primus multi fuel stove, water was boiled for hot drinks in next to no time. Once you're reasonably equipped for the conditions, it's a piece of cake. And to be honest the setting & sunrise is beautiful there with a clear winter sky.
