The workshops
Each workshop lasts 90 mins with the option of a 10-20 min break in the middle, and caters for up to 12 people. Larger groups can be accommodated with additional instructor(s). Max group size 12 per instructor.
Tricks
Basic skills include standing on 1 leg, standing on 2 legs, walking forwards, walking backwards, turns, single & double knee drops, and bounce walking. More advanced tricks include the Buddah bounce, the plant, front & side surfing, the matrix, thing-on-a-spring, the jump start and many more.
Tuition
1-to-1 training lasts up to 60 minutes per lesson, and can be either pure slacking, or can be tailored as a form of sport specific cross training.
Requirements
Each line requires 2 anchor points approx 8-10 meters apart, trees are ideal. The height of the line can be adjusted to suit the ability level of each group. A beginner on the line would be mere inches from the ground to ensure maximum safety & fun.
The Instructor
Malachy has been slacklining since the late noughties, and as a fitness instructor has a background in teaching physical skills, including, but not limited to, Juggling & other circus skills, Karate, Judo, basic Gymnastics and, of course, Slacklining. He has been teaching slackline to anyone who’d like to try it since 2010, and has given workshops both locally in Tralee, and internationally in Germany, Italy and Poland.
