RYL Fitness - 4 minute fix

"I don't have the time" is something I used to hear quite a bit when I worked in the gym. It was one of the first lies people would come out with during a consultation. I say it was a lie, because when you spend long enough interviewing people about their habits goals and motivations, you get very good at spotting when people are uncomfortable with what they are saying.

People are generally honest, and will think they are telling the truth when they say they don't have time, but the subconscious knows if you've been spending hours on facebook, youtube etc. In that kind of situation it's a case of having priorities mixed up..

In a very rare instance, a person will genuinely be stuck for time, and will be totally unable to commit to an exercise program that's any more than 10 minutes at a time, and even blocking off those 10 could be a challenge.

Thats where my 4 minute fix came from. It's 2 exercises, done for 4 minutes including rest time.
A typical fix would look something like this:
Squat:20 seconds
Rest: 10 seconds
Pressup/pushup: 20 seconds
Rest: 10 seconds

Repeat 4 times without taking any break.
The idea is that every bit of exercise you can do is better than none, and it's pretty easy to find 4 minutes to make it happen. I've started to record these mini workouts as i do them myself, and i'm uploading them to youtube, so while there are only a handful there so far, the library will increase over time. I'm starting with exercises that don't require any special equipment, so you can follow along if you'd like. Be warned though, as i'm new to making these videos, there will be mistakes along the way. I hope you'll forgive me, I'm only human after all.
